During the summer, the season was filled with summer school and other curriculum was spent. While my brother was in Mexico building a house for homeless people while my mom, dad, and me were stuck in Sequoia swatting mosquitoes. Also as a family we went to Las Vegas to stay in Mandalay Bay and we swam in the wave pool. Overall this was a regular summer filled with education and the occasion vacation. Josh Yoon
For summer vacation, I traveled to South Korea through Hawaiian Airlines and got to stop over in Hawaii. Korea and Hawaii were both beautiful countries to tour.
This summer I went to Cooperstown in New York for a baseball tournament. I also went to Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor a few ties. I spent most of my other days in the pool or relaxing.
I went to the Caribbean during summer. I went to a place called Akumal Bay. I also went to Yosemite for camping, but it was very busy. I also was able to see my siser and her dog as well as her boyfriend.
This summer, I went on a road trip with my family and cousins to Yellowstone. Along the way, we went to Zion Canyon and Bryce Canyon, which was beautiful. Also, I went to a summer camp at Whittier for a week. It was very exciting because I got to make completely new friends from all over Southern California and make new memories with them.
I traveled to India and spent time with my grandparents. I attended a STEM camp at University of California, Santa Barbara for a week. I surfed for the first time, got to experience life in a dorm room and handled marine animals at a research facility. I also went to Universal Studios (mainly to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter). The butterbeer was delicious and the virtual ride was very exciting.
One of the the biggest things I did over the summer was go on a two week vacation with my family. We did college tours all the way up to Oregon for a week and then spent another week in Tahoe with our friends. Out of all the colleges we saw, UCSB was by far my favorite. We also saw Stanford and University of Oregon, but Stanford seemed too big for me and I don't want to leave state so Oregon wasn't an option. In Tahoe, my family rented a speed boat and went tubing on the lake which by far was my favorite part.
Most of my summer vacation was spent catching Pokemon and/or watching movies with friends. Aside from that, I spent a few days in New York and then joined an East Coast tour that included Canada and did touristy stuff, learned a ton about history, and became sleep deprived.
Over summer break, I had a great time doing different activities. I had fun performing in a theatre camp with my friends. I spent time with my family in Oregon and met a foreign exchange student and stayed with my cousins. We went to Crater Lake National Park and a Wildlife Safari. One of my favorite times was traveling to Lake Arrowhead with my aunt and uncle and riding in their boat. I ended the summer with a horse camp and learned a lot about horses. I had a fun summer!
I participated in volleyball camp for 4 weeks and I also went to las Vegas for my friend's birthday party. I went to the beach pretty much the entire summer!
